Thankfully I yelled loudly at him and he let me out pretty quickly. When I came out he says: "HA HA, I locked you in there!"

Wow. That's crazy - why is the lock on the outside?
Because the stupid old doors in our basement won't stay shut if we don't use a hook on the outside.
