The Best Friends a Girl Could Have

I had a decent birthday, the usual. Dinner with my family, a few nice cards and gifts, one rockin gift from my grandma that I did NOT expect to get.
And then the day after my birthday my friend Paige and I had plans for dinner. She took me out last year so I didn't think it was odd at all. She told me it was a surprise where we were headed so I just went along. I thought it a bit odd that we had to leave Dearborn to go for Middle Eastern food in Oak Park, but whatever.
On the drive to dinner I had this strange feeling (which I now know it was God talking to me again) telling me that Sarah would be at dinner. And when we pull into the parking lot I see the wide butt of my favorite orange Pacifica in the parking lot. As we walk up to the door I'm checking inside the car to see if I see Josh's car seat. Then I see Sarah sitting in a booth right by the window and I was so excited to see her!!! We eat and then I hear Sarah call Josie and tell her that we're leaving in a few minutes and will meet her there. WHAT!?!? we're going somewhere else?
We went to Caribou in Royal Oak and after we get our drinks I'm looking for a table to sit down at when Sarah and Paige look at me like I'm crazy and state "Oh no, we're not done here, come on." So we walk over to Creative Arts Studio where they tell me we're going to make whatever we want, pottery, mosaics, jewelry..... so totally up my alley!! And the crazy thing is that I also had this weird feeling that we'd be doing something like this, and it had nothing to do with me snooping around.
This night was so awesome that I didn't want it to end, although I was getting tired :) To think that my friends love me so much that they put this together just for me was amazing. And the fact that they planned something they knew I would love is even more amazing. I don't have an auditorium full of friends that know me well but what I do have is a handful of friends that are more like sisters to me. Being an only child growing up was really hard but being loved by your friends that see you like family is really great.
I grouted my mosaic masterpiece today and it should be ready tomorrow so I'll post a picture of it later.

Now, if only my husband would acknowledge how great I am. :) (didn't even get so much as the usual handmade card with a nice sentiment inside)
